Luke Ahrens
Senior Pastor & Lead Elder
Luke Ahrens serves as the Senior Pastor and Lead Elder at Vertical Church. Luke loves opening God's Word and sharing the truth and grace of the Gospel of Jesus each week with the Vertical Church family.
Luke grew up in the Chicagoland area in a ministry family. He committed his life to Jesus Christ by faith as a child. His dream as a long-suffering Cubs fan was a future in baseball and then politics, until God redirected his life as he read the book Revival Fire. Luke worked at UPS for 10 years as he prepared for ministry, eventually completing his Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Following seminary, he served on staff at Harvest Bible Chapel in Chicago.
In 2010, Luke and Jensine moved to Columbus to plant a new church; Vertical Church just celebrated its 15th anniversary by the grace of God!
Luke and his late wife Jensine have four kids, Isaiah, Elijah, Micah, and Tirzah. He enjoys playing softball, hiking, going to Cubs games, playing board games with his kids, and cheering on the Buckeyes!
