Tom Heyl
Interim Director of Pastoral Engagement
Tom Heyl serves as the coordinator for several ministry areas at Vertical Church, including the Grace Group Ministry and Stewardship Ministry. He also provides shepherding and pastoral care for new visitors, helping them connect and grow within the church community.
Tom grew up in Upper Arlington and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior during his senior year of high school. He later attended The Ohio State University and pursued his passion for a career in media, where he spent nearly 30 years in broadcasting.
Tom has a deep heart for discipleship and has had the privilege of serving on the boards of several ministries, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Search Ministries, and currently Lifewise Academy Upper Arlington.
Tom has been married for 40 years to his California girl, Cynthia. Together they have two children and three grandchildren. One of Tom’s lifelong hobbies is music—he has been playing the drums since the age of seven.
